Shell and beach
Shell and beach

This was when I spent the entire evening on the 1st floor of Curlies shack at Anjuna, Goa. Good food and drinks, and alternative arrangements of mattress and long table laid down on the floor so that you can sit cross legged or lie down. The view of the beach on the side as you sip your cool drinks adds to the cool breeze. Special party days on Tuesdays and Thursdays change the setup as the place is packed with loud music.

From the place where I was sitting (or lying down most of the times), these round shells on strings and paper cutouts which swirl as the wind blows were laid out in a sequence, adding to the beauty of the sea. I guess one can never get tired of these places.

These round shells have a special place for me, because when I was young my father had collected a huge number of these, and then used some round lid to mark a circle and cutout the shell in perfect circle. And then the long process of gluing it to a string with colored beads in between. These hung in huge numbers on the big full wall width window we had at Junta House for more than 10 years I guess, making a nice sound every time the wind blew.
