“The problem with the future is that it keeps turning into the present.”
Calvin And Hobbes
A few drinks down and soon enough one starts talking about the future.. or his/her existence in this world, what his/her goals are.. what the path ahead leads too.. Well the best part of the future is that “we dont know what we don’t know”, and hence we can never predict it. These are the few statements I have heard from people in their most philosophical state of mind (hic hic).
1. I feel the future me will be able to meet Mahatma Gandhi (This was after watching Lage raho munna bhai)
2. When I die and I find God exists, I am sc$$ed, but what if the Pope dies and he realises there is no God.
3. I will ask God, who are you to open my book of deeds, nonono… Lets first open your book eh. Bet you never had anyone asking to open your book.
4. I just want to be a tree, swaying about in some mountain… hmm far away from any woodcutter.
5. The future me has still not come back and told the present me about time travel.. Damn.. wait till I meet you.
6. One, two.. three.. (counting stars)
7. Man.. It will like exploring the new world man.. I could be like Vasco Da Gama man, exploring the universe, and making settlements man..
8. Wish the future me could come back and give me a kick on the arse to tell me to stop worrying and that everything went of fine.. (final exam papers are answered)
9. Dude 1: (Siting on his bed and staring at Jim Morrisons poster), Dude… Jim Morrison is talking to me.. for real
Dude 2: What is he saying?
Dude 1: Jim morrison is saying dude keep practicing.. you will become a rock star soon
10. Man.. its 2000.. in one year we will be out of this God Damn college and do something.. Man I can be a rock-star.. I want to do something cool.. This education system is a waste on my creative power man.. Anurag you @#@@ don’t laugh… mark my words.. in 10 years I will be doing something ultra cool man..
(The dude above is working in the bank now)
“I feel that you are justified in looking into the future with true assurance, because you have a mode of living in which we find the joy of life and the joy of work harmoniously combined. Added to this is the spirit of ambition which pervades your very being, and seems to make the day’s work like a happy child at play.”
Albert Einstein
I requested my friend to pose in front of this lamp-post at Morjim and act as if she is looking into the future in the crystal ball.
