“The earth laughs in flowers.”

Although I had the 100mm macro lens from Canon for some time, I finally got a chance to use its macro capabilities when I was holidaying at Munnar.
Outside my cottage was a lovely patch of flowers, as can be seen on the panoramic view. it took me some time to try to get images so close without the tripod. The IS (Image stabilization) helped. Was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I did not expect it to come so well. I could have got a much more zoomed version of these, however those were not as exciting as these 7 images (and a panoramic one) which show the flower as a whole.
I love the colors and details. I did not even notice the mini dewdrops on the tiny flowers until I clicked the macro, they were too tiny for the naked eye. The depth of field was wonderful (the blur effect on elements not in focus).
As I type this blog I am reminded of the words by Iris Murdoch
“People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.”
