“The soul, fortunately, has an interpreter – often an unconscious but still a faithful interpreter – in the eye.”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

I have always wanted to capture eyes properly. However on many occasions I have failed to do so. They were either blurred (A good portrait is one in which the eyes look sharp, things like ears etc may look a bit blurred if eg your aperture is open), or the lighting was not good, or I was just not happy with the intense look I wanted from the eyes.

However I was really lucky with this shot. Anuja’s eyes are beautiful and one cannot take a beautiful snap of the eyes without the eyes being beautiful. The eyes gave the intense fiery look.

I used my 24-105mm lens, and set this at 105mm, and the aperture to 4.0 (the maximum I could open it) both the settings required to get a good depth of field. with 1/50sec exposure time and IS added to the lens, it was still enough to capture. The outdoor lighting helped restrict my ISO to 200.

Thanks Anuja for the opportunity.
